Things to do in the area

We invite you to stay the weekend and enjoy Vermont.  Burlington is our favorite town with lots to see and do. Here is a short list of our favorite activities, places to eat, and things to see:

Downtown Burlington - At the heart of downtown, Church Street is a wonderful pedestrian street lined with shops, restaurants, bars, and art galleries. Spend the afternoon walking around enjoying the live street musicians and the relaxed atmosphere. Our favorite restaurants include, Hen of the WoodPizzeria VeritàEl Cortijo, and the Farmhouse Tap and Grill

Burlington Farmer's Market - A fantastic market that happens on Saturday mornings City Hall Park. Stroll around and sample all the amazing food and drink the vendors have to offer!

Shelburne Museum - A nationally recognized museum focused on art, design, and Americana.  Spend time exploring the Ticonderoga  steamboat, a Vermont round barn, and in addition to works by Monet, Degas, and Corot.

Citizen Cider - A wonderful tasting room (with great food as well!) where you can sample Vermont's own hard cider. Only minutes from downtown.

The Burlington Bike Path - The trail starts in downtown Burlington and you can ride it all the way up to the islands just south of the Canadian border. The views are truly breathtaking. Didn't bring your bike? Rentals are available at the beginning of the trail at Local Motion

Kayaking or Canoeing on Lake Champlain - Located right on the Burlington Waterfront, the Community Sailing Center has all your rental needs and you can push off from the dock right at their location! Rent a canoe, kayak, or even a sail boat.

Shelburne Farms - Didn't have the chance to see the entire property at the wedding? Feel free to go back and explore the beautiful grounds! It is a great place for a long walk and wonderful scenery.

Shelburne Vineyard - Very near to Shelburne Farms and one of our favorite stops. Great wine samples and a glass to take home as well!

Folino's Pizza - If you've made your way back to Shelburne, this pizza is a must try! Located directly across the street from the Shelburne Vineyard, Folino's shares a building with the Fiddlehead Brewery and is a BYOB establishment. Our personal favorite pies? The Buffalo Chicken and the Scallop and Bacon with Lemon Zest.

Hiking Mount Philo - Located in nearby Charlotte, VT, Mt. Philo is a two mile hike with absolutely breathtaking views. Pack a lunch and enjoy sitting at a picnic table once you reach the top.
